Curcumin, derived from the spice turmeric, has been used in India for 4000 years in cooking and Ayurvedic medicine. It is one of the most widely researched natural ingredients with over 5000 publications to date and counting. Curcumin has been shown to exhibit anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-cancer activities.† Curcumin C3 Complex is the gold standard for curcumin supplementation and has been successfully used for over 20 years. In addition to its unsurpassed clinical efficacy it also has an untouchable safety profile being used worldwide by millions of people. This patented form has been used more than any other curcumin supplements. Boswellia serrata, also known as Frankincense, has been used for thousands of years and is most commonly recognized from Bible quotations as one of the gifts brought by the Magi to baby Jesus. Boswelllia serrata has been used for hundreds of years in Ayurvedic Medicine and other cultural medicines. More recently it has used in naturopathic medicine in the U.S. and Europe for treating arthritis and pain.†It has been shown to be effective on specifically targeted areas such as the brain and lungs and can be helpful to those patients with neurological conditions and asthma. Recently has been proven to positively impact inflammation throughout the body in a number of conditions as a 5-LOX inhibitor among other actions. A patented form of boswellia serrata called Boswellin has been clinically studied and has become the gold standard of boswellia extracts. The most important compounds of boswellia has been found to be boswellic acids and also AKKBA. Research has demonstrated that these two components provide the strong benefits of boswellia serrata. However, more recently a newer form called Boswellin® PS is a form of Boswellia that has been shown to be stronger, more readily and quickly absorbable by the body. Boswellin® PS contains a polysaccharide fraction called Polysal™ that improves the benefits and absorption of the boswellic acids and AKKBA. Thus a synergistic effect from this patented compound now provides more efficacious results by providing a full spectrum anti-inflammatory activity with an immediate onset of action within 20 minutes. Boswellin® PS is an exclusive patented ingredient only found in Bosmeric-SR. For the above reasons, we only use Boswellin® PS.
Ginger, the rhizome, or underground stem of the plant (Zingiber officinale) has been used for thousands of years in cooking throughout the world and in Ayurvedic Medicine and other traditional medicines. In addition to cooking, it is commonly used in teas. Ginger has also been used for a wide variety of conditions. Most common of which are digestion related: including nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea and motion sickness. More recently research has shown ginger to have anti-inflammatory actions and now it is even used in arthritis, the common cold and flu, painful menstruation symptoms and even headaches. It also has been shown to act as a gastro-protective agent, protecting against ulcers and decreasing nausea.†Ginger can be extremely helpful for upset stomach and nausea during pregnancy and also during chemotherapy treatments.† Research has identified that the compounds called gingerols are one of the most important in ginger. The amount of gingerols is 20% which is the highest amount available in any supplement. When combined with curcumin and boswellia, ginger’s benefits are synergistically enhanced. For the above reasons, we use only use ginger extract with 20% gingerols in Bosmeric-SR®.
Black pepper is commonly used in cooking for thousands of years and is found on almost every kitchen table worldwide. Research has shown that black pepper not only has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, it also increases absorption of the other ingredients from 30 – 60% when taken together. Black pepper is placed upon our food for this reason - to enhance the absorption of what we are eating. Ayurvedic medicines commonly use black pepper in their formulas to increase absorption in addition to its other actions. BioPerine® is the patented gold standard of black pepper extracts. It contains the standardized extract of black pepper (piper nigrum) to 95% piperine. With its excellent safety profile and bioavailibity enhancer effects, BioPerine® helps to boost the anti inflammatory properties and absorption of the combined Curcumin C3 Complex, Boswellin PS and Ginger extracts.† For the above reasons, we only use BioPerine in Bosmeric-SR.
